We made it through another week! Crazily enough – the end of first quarter is almost upon us! That means that we will be having first quarter conferences and ILP meetings. There are three half days Sept 30, Oct 1 and 2.

Please click here to sign up for a conference time. Please let me know in the comments  of the sign up if you will be meeting virtually or in person.

At conferences, we will be going over MAP data, general observations and your choice for in person or home based learning for 2nd quarter! The official due date for these choices is not out yet, but please be thinking if you would like to move your student back into the classroom after fall break so that I can best be prepared!

KEEP THE QUOTE – We did our first keep the quote this week! Every week, we will have a character trait and a quote that we will focus and reflect on during the week. Our word of the week was PERSEVERANCE and our quote was, “We don’t grow when things are easy. We grow when things are hard.” On Fridays, the students are encouraged to nominate students that they think best represented or demonstrated the trait and quote this week.  We discuss that this is not the time to nominate our friends, but to recognize and build up others! It honestly is one of my favorite parts of the week… to hear the students recognize and compliment each other. I am always amazed at what they see in one another. We had some great nominations. Some items that were noted were students that showed up to every meeting, students that completed their slides every day, students that put on headphones to focus and complete work during time that we could casually talk, and one student that said we ALL deserve the poster as we muddle our way through online and combo learning!!!! However, after nominations and secret voting – the students voted the poster goes to Graham for sticking with football and how much he has improved over the last year! I LOVED IT!!!!  Congratulations and kudos to Graham!

I appreciate your continued patience as we support both our in person and online students. I am trying very hard to not change our schedule and I think that this week went really well! There is a schedule on the 2nd slide each day, but here is the HOMEBASED schedule:

8:30 – morning announcements, MATH group #1 ( see slide for groups)

9:35 – Math group #2 ( see slide for groups)

10:05 – PE

10:35 – Social Studies or Science followed by writing or grammar

12:35 – Read aloud, Language arts

2:00 – 2:30 – open office hours

Please let me know if you have questions or concerns. Thank you again for your continued support.

Sincerely  –
Mrs. Yocklin
