STEMfest / SCIENCE Fair / 2nd Semester LEARNING CELEBRATION

  • STEMfest/ SCIENCE fair will be held at the Power campus on SATURDAY, Feb 1 from 9-1. This will also serve as our 2nd Semester LEARNING CELEBRATION. Students’ notebooks will be available for perusal and I am looking for a few student volunteers to assist in explaining a small science project to attendees. I am only looking for students to commit to a 30 minute block so that you may all wander as a family and enjoy all of the fun activities that will be there.   • We will be working on Physical Science for all of 3rd quarter in Science and our STEMfest activity will revolve around force and motion.

SPELLING BEE – A big congratulations to our own Daphne  for her 2nd place runner-up win in the school spelling bee. She did amazing in our longest running bee at 32 rounds!

GEOGRAPHY BEE  – We had THREE students qualify for the Geography Bee to be held this Wednesday, Jan 22. Big Congrats to Saxon, Finn and Brenden for their upcoming challenge!

Novel studies have started and are going well. If your student is absent, please check with them to make sure they are keeping up with their novel days, so that they can participate in the group discussion and get the most out of the time. There is no need to buy your own book to keep at home-  students are welcome to borrow mine. We have discussed what it means to take care of them and return them in great shape.

CAMP PERMISSION SLIP DEADLINE is looming with the final day for payment this Friday, January 24th.  

  • Please check out the CHAPEL ROCK link on the side of my webpage for copies of the permission slip, medication consent and packing list. We will continue to check the weather as it gets closer. We will be planning activities for those that stay behind to work on with a substitute and will have more information after the payment deadline.

SPRING PICTURES will be held Feb 5.

FAMILY FUN night is Feb 8. Tickets can be purchased through the front office.
