Fall Break!

Happy fall break!

It seemed like August flew by and September hung on forever, but we made it to the end of Qtr. 1! Thank you to all of those that I met at conferences. I look forward to streamlining our learning for second quarter.

SPIRIT DAYS-

***PLEASE SEND PAPER TOWEL TUBES, PRINGLES CANS, OR SIMILAR FOR AN ART PROJECT FOR THE HOMECOMING PARADE ON FRIDAY.

We will have spirit days when we return for our four day week.

Monday – NO SCHOOL – Teacher work day

Tuesday – Decades day

Wednesday – Sports day

Thursday – Twins day ( or however many of you want to ‘twin’!)

Friday – SUPER SCHOOL SPIRIT day – Wear your green and gold

SCHEDULE –

As we will be returning to a more normalized schedule in the classroom, our schedule will be updated. With more recesses for mask breaks, time in the classroom is BUSY.

SAFETY –

Of course, we are going through our fair share of hand sanitizer. If you are able to donate any to our classroom, or send one for your student, it is much appreciated.

KEEP THE QUOTE –

Sep 25 – With the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, she was the perfect person to inspire our quote for the week. The students nominated many, but LEXIE R. took the poster home! Lexie is as ‘go with the flow’ as it gets and she never lets those unkind words affect her day.  I loved that Lexie got this poster, as she constantly questions why there are not more girls doing ‘that’ or why girls were not allowed to do x, y or z in our discussions. She is a strong young lady in her own right and an excellent recipient of RBG!

Oct 2 – Last week’s poster was ‘We need to have self-control in an out of control world’. It was a reminder that we can take steps on our own to be responsible over what we can control. We spoke about things that we can control in class, in school, at home and in life. The students brainstormed  a lot of strategies to help us feel like we are in control. Some ideas were deep breaths, walking away, wearing your mask, making a list…. they came up with some great ones! This week, they again nominated each other and in our secret vote, they chose LOLA S. ! Lola takes great pride in just being nominated, but the other students admire her strong work ethic and her demonstration of showing her discipline and self control in showing up for every meeting, being respectful and doing her work.

Congratulations to both girls on keeping the quote!

I hope you all are enjoying, relaxing and renewing on this fall break! I appreciate all of your continued support and look forward to an amazing 2nd quarter!
